About SpeedFox

What this tool is, why it exists, and how it's different from other tools with a similar name.

What SpeedFox Is

A free, browser-based internet speed test built for accuracy and transparency: real download, upload, ping, and jitter measurements, honest server and ISP detection, and a fully documented methodology. No sign-up, no inflated numbers.

There's no account, no plugin, and no app to install. Every test runs as a direct transfer between your browser and a test server, timed and measured on your device. Results, methodology, and limitations are all published openly rather than left as a black box.

How We Approach Accuracy

Every number SpeedFox shows is a real, dynamically measured value, never a hardcoded sample or a rounded-up estimate. Where a measurement has a known limitation (browser scheduling, Wi-Fi interference, background traffic), we say so rather than hide it. The full technical breakdown, warm-up windows, cache-busting, the jitter formula, bufferbloat grading, is public on the Methodology page.

About the Name

"SpeedFox" is a common enough name that a few unrelated businesses use it too, including a logistics company, an older web hosting brand, and at least one other speed-testing tool. This site is published at speedfox.site and is not affiliated with, and doesn't share data or ownership with, any other company or product using a similar name.
